Focusing on three types of utensils such as knives, forks, and spoons I wanted my photographs to show what can artistically be done using these simple and well-known objects. I composed these photographs in ways people would not normally see utensils. Using qualities such as light, shadow and reflection helped me compose more complex images making the utensils less recognizable.
With the suggestion of ten final photographs, I wanted three photographs of each utensil leaving me with one unknown image for the tenth photograph. I chose to capture an image of exactly all the utensils I used for my other nine photographs. I wanted this particular image to be a subtle introduction to my other photographs telling viewers these are the seven knives, four forks and four spoons that were used.
